This is a great opportunity to meet other club members and exercise the dogs. SENIOR STAKE – 8:30 A.M. This is a 10 year or older dog stake. It is to be judged on the dog’s ability to hunt, handle and point birds. Judgement stops when the bird is flushed. Hearing aides, diapers and tracking collars welcome, but e- collars – the dog cannot be placed. SHOOTING DOGS – TO FOLLOW SENIOR STAKE For dogs 6 months and older. The dog must give a finished performance, point staunchly, and be steady to wing and shot. HUNTING DOG – TO FOLLOW SHOOTING DOGS For dogs 6 months and older who DO NOT have an adult AKC placement. The hunting dog must establish and hold point until the handler flushes the bird(s). Steadiness to wing and shot is not required. DERBY – TO FOLLOW HUNTING DOGS The derby dog must establish point, but is not judged for steadiness to wing and shot. Blanks fired if bird contact is made. DIAPER DERBY – SEPARATE COURSE AROUND LUNCH TIME - For puppies under 6 months of age. Firing blanks is not required or encouraged. PUPPIES – FOLLOWING DIAPER DERBY – SEPARATE COURSE - For puppies 6-15 months. Blanks fired if bird contact is made. ENTRY FEES – All stakes are $12.00 per dog except diaper derby which is $5.00 – birds will be provided in all stakes. (If trial becomes a training session, fee will remain the same to cover the cost of birds). Please register early so we can plan for the number of birds to purchase. However, don’t stay home because you forgot to register – we’ll register you at the trial. SPECIAL NOTE: If we don’t have enough entries or judges are not available, we will change the format to a training session with emphasis on field trial handling. We will have a lunch which will be $5.00 per person. If you would like to bring a dish to pass that would be great, Please let me know. Thanks. |

OTTAWA FIELD TRIAL GROUNDS Send Entries to: Chris Sennott, 352 Whitney Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047 Email: CGSENNOTT@COMCAST.NET Entries must be in by August 15th Entry Fees $42.00 Per Team The Find, Flush & Fire, (FFF) is an annual club “fun” event. You and your partner get 20 minutes, and 6 shells each, to try and get 4 Chukars. You can only shoot birds that your dog points, and the less time and shells used, the higher your score. You must pre-enter, so that we know how many birds to buy. If you don’t have a teammate, you can still enter, and we will try to match you up with someone. Official Rules and Regulation 1. Two handlers and one or two dogs per team (no more than two dogs) 2. Each dog may only be entered one time 3. Each handler is allowed six shells – no larger that #6 shot 4. A point must be established on each bird 5. All birds must be shot over your, or your partner’s dog 6. Any non-flying birds retrieved by your dog will be counted, and one shell deducted 7. Birds may be shot by either team member 8. Time will stop after four birds are shot and in hand, or a maximum of 20 minutes are reached 9. Official score will be determined by the time-keeper (Gerilyn) 10. A stop to flush will count as a “point”, ONLY if the dog holds until shot is fired 11. If your dog is on point, and your only shot is toward the gallery, wave your hat and yell “safety”. A safety will be counted as 1 bird in hand and 1 shell used 12. A blaze orange cap or vest is required 13. A beeper collar or bell is allowed, NO TRANING COLLARS are permitted during competition. 14. For your safety, there will be NO RUNNING IN THE FIELD WITH A SHOTGUN, a brisk walk is acceptable. Scoring: Tie Breakers Birds: 100 points each 1. Number of Birds Shells: 25 points each 2. Number of Shells Time: 50 points for every 30 seconds left 3. Exact Time |
